Dr. Saiqa Anne Qureshi, a sociologist from the University of California, San Francisco, was invited to conduct a guest lecture on the topic "Gender and Violence: Sexual Harassment in Society" in conjunction with International Women’s month. The guest lecture successfully attracted 60 students enrolled in Sociology I and English Composition I modules in Taylor’s ADP program.


Dr. Saiqa highlighted the pertinent issues surrounding this topic, namely, Child Marriage, Rape, Date Rape, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Female Genital Mutilation and so on during the interactive session. The students actively forwarded numerous questions on Gender Based Violence and contributed to the discussion on how to go about addressing these pressing issues within delicate cultural contexts and to ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended, and the victims are given the support and assistance that they deserve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has driven students’ interest in Computer Science related subjects in view of the enormous market boom in the Information Technology industry. In line with this trend, Taylor’s American Degree Transfer Program organized an introductory workshop on Python Programming on 18th March 2021. A total of 60 students participated in this interactive and hands-on session where they learnt how to use Python for data analytics, visualization, build machine learning models, and so on based on real-world data.

Centre for Languages under the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences in partnership with British Council Malaysia, is now proud to be the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) registration centre within the Subang area. The centre will undertake registration of candidates, provision of examinations administration and IELTS-related services, the use of facilities as an IELTS registration and off-site test venue and assist in promoting IELTS to the campus community.
