Featuring one of our alumnus, Mr. Jason Kong Jiunh Kay from the first graduating batch of the Bachelor of International Tourism Management (Honours) (Events Management) programme. He has always been a storyteller first, where he would relate to his clients with his views and creative ideas to wow them before putting it in black and white. He started his passion to curate special and unique events where people enjoy going.

It all started 6 years ago when Mr. Jason established his own company, Ignatius Asia Sdn Bhd after leaving his job with his previous company. Ignatius Asia is currently an established event company in the Klang Valley curating special events for various clients from the property, Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and sports equipment. He was previously an assistant manager in his previous company and from there-on, he learned the ins and outs of events & activation and developed himself to be a capable person to lead a company.

“One needs to work hard and not let the tiredness of an event burn your passion out. Many people consider event management a fun and happy field but once they are in it, they will feel the pressure and burden of clients, suppliers, crowds and many people, as your idea is brought to life and expectations are high. Emotions will run and you need to control your team and motivate them always during the preparation and during the event to make sure everything goes smoothly. Therefore, one must be highly motivated and have a very positive personality with a motivational mind to carry yourself till the end.” Jason Kong
