The School of Media and Communication organized a Public Relations Webinar on 21st May 2020 with Mr. Jaya Kumar Vanialingam from JK Signature, as the guest speaker. The topic of the Webinar was ‘Attributes of a Successful Event Manager’ which was aimed at students who are in the Public Relations and Event Management Programme.
Mr. Jaya Kumar or well-known as JK did his studies with Blue Mountain International Hotel Management School and gained his Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering from C & G School of Hotel and Catering, Kuala Lumpur before joining the Malaysian Airlines as a cabin crew for several years. His passion for the service industry has strongly influenced him in setting-up his own business.
JK is the founder and Director of JK Signature, a training and events agency. In 2019, JK Signature won the Brand of the Year Award from Global Entrepreneur Council. In this Webinar, JK talked about the preparations needed to prepare oneself for the event industry, including all the DO’s and DON’Ts when dealing with clients. He also shared several tips on how to be result and objective-driven when working on events organizing. There were around 80 participants attended the Webinar and JK successfully engaged them with his insights and videos shown during the Webinar.
