An event experience requires a process that is able to capture positive commitment involving various stakeholders in an event. Instead of having a pleasant experience, majority of event organizers have had unfortunate experiences throughout the organization of their events. Therefore, careful planning of events is vital to ensure a positive event experience for both organizers and attendees. To further discuss event experience, School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events (SHTE) invited Mr. Chai Yun Jiet, an alumnus from the Bachelor of International Tourism Management (Events Management) programme, to share his experience in virtual and physical events.
Chai Yun Jiet was an exemplary student with good leadership skills throughout his bachelor’s degree journey in the programme under the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events. He shared his experience involving these two different platforms of events. The session was held on 18 February 2022, attended by not only students who enrolled in the Trends and Issues in International Event Management module, but also open to other events students who were interested.
It was an interesting session with a good interaction between the alumnus and students, especially during the Q&A session. Most of the questions posed to Mr. Chai Yun Jiet concerned his experiences in the industry, the challenges, and the networking he did with other stakeholders.
