The 1st batch of 19 students, Bachelor in Events (BE18) taking Conventions & Meetings Management (EVT60704) module visited the Malaysian Dental Association (MDA) Scientific Convention and Trade Exhibition (SCATE) 2019, held at KLCC. In its 26th year, the conference this year took the theme “A lifetime of oral health for all’, with a wide range of lecture topics covering the various fields of dentistry. Also included were sessions on current trends and needs of patients, for the public and private sectors. The event also featured an exhibition of 56 booths showcasing dental product and services from the region.
The trip was made possible thanks to Dr. Mas Suryalis Ahmad, the Chairperson of MDA SCATE 2019, who introduced us via email to Dr Goh Siong Ling, the Treasurer. During the visit, the students were welcomed warmly with a tour of the activities. It was definitely a fruitful trip as experience sharing and Q&A with Dr Goh provided students with invaluable insights – especially MDA's organizational structure and the objectives set for this annual event.
