On 6th February 2021, Diploma in Event Management students, batch 14 and 15 organized their Event Project entitled The Zodiac Killer under the guidance of Ms. Ng Wai Yee. As part of their Event Project module, the students are required to plan and organize a recreational event. The students came up with the idea of a virtual escape room where participants will collect clues and solve puzzles through different social media and online platforms. The participants should choose 1 of the 12 Zodiac signs as their main idea and storyline for the event. Similar to the concept of an escape room, participants are given a time limit to solve the puzzle and escape the room.
The objective of this concept was to create an event where people can enjoy from the comfort of their home whilst staying safe and to share general knowledge on the 12 Horoscope Zodiac through using this game in a virtual platform. The event had 3 sessions with a maximum capacity of 11 teams per session. There was a total of 120 participants who participated in this online event. The students also managed to get 1 sponsor, Printcious. The winners walked away with cash prizes and vouchers sponsored by the sponsor. Despite the tight timeline, the students had a good learning experience and gained new insights in planning and organizing an online event. The participants also had an enjoyable time.
