4 PATA students from the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events attended PATA Adventure Travel Conference and Mart 2020 at Sutera Harbour, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The students gained insights on adventure tourism at the Adventure Travel Conference on the 13thof February 2020. Some of the topics covered were “State of Adventure Tourism” by Raj Gyawali, Founder Director of Socialtours and Natasha Martin, Adventure Tourism Expert and “Who are our Adventure Tourists” by Irshad Mubarak, Founder of JungleWalla Tours just to name a few. The students also attended the Travel Mart on the 14th of February where they met and networked with adventure product buyers and sellers from across the world, including state, regional and local tourism agencies, unique accommodation providers and tour operators.
