Taylor’s Culinary Institute Launches WSET Programmes


Taylor’s Culinary Institute continuously collaborates with the world’s leading provider of qualifications in wines. The Wine & Spirit Education Trust WSET® provides the best-in-class education and qualifications designed for those who are just starting out in their careers, as well as for established professionals and all who have a passion for wines. Taylor’s Culinary Institute will offer the three different levels:


WSET Level 1: is a beginner - level introduction to wine, suitable for those starting a wine career or pursuing an interest in wine. For individuals new to wine study, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wine.


WSET Level 2: is a beginner to intermediate level qualification in exploring wines. It is suitable for industry professionals and wine enthusiasts. This qualification is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of wines or those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained along with the WSET Level 1 Award.


WSET Level 3: is an advanced-level qualification for professionals working in the wine industry and for wine enthusiasts. It involves wine tasting of up to 60 varieties to ensure participants gain the authority and confidence needed to make informed decisions in any wine related situation.


This programme is conducted by two outstanding and experienced Wine Experts from Taylor's University:

Dr. Joaquim Dias Soeiro, Head of School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events. He is a certified Trainer TTT 5533, Certified Hotel Educator (American Hotel & Lodging Association), wine trainer, and WSET educator, with over 15 years of experience in France and Malaysia.


Mr. Rueben Suresh, a Senior Lecturer of Taylor’s Culinary Institute. He is one of the only two certified trainers in Malaysia qualified to conduct the WSET® (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) UK programmes up to WSET Level 3.
