Fundamental Barista Skills is a barista course offered through the collaboration with e-Learning Academy of Taylor's University (TU) and the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events. An open course to all Taylor's Students who are new to coffee and wishes to attain some fundamental knowledge on coffee. This course covered the history, type of coffee beans, coffee farm visit, coffee growing, coffee equipment and latte art.
The instructors for this course were Ms. Michelle Lee, Lecturer & coffee lover, and Mr. Chiew Boon Tian, Lecturer & Club Advisor for Taylor's Barista Club. Mr. Ardian Nata Subrata, Bachelor of International Hospitality Management final year student and Logistic Director from TU Barista Club also joined to demonstrate a few latte arts to the participants.
A total of 40 Taylor’s University students from the certificate, foundation, undergraduate to postgraduate programmes enrolled into this short course. The students who fulfilled the criteria of this course were given an Online Digital Badge at the end of the session.
