Malaysia’s Top Private University, Taylor’s University has launched it's Taylor’s Alumni Maldives Chapter in Malé, creating opportunities for its alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and peers as well as to strengthen the bond between the alumni and the university. The ceremony was attended by industry guests, senior officials, faculty members of Taylor’s University and Villa’s College Maldives, and not forgotten the around 50 Taylor’s alumni from various programmes such as Hospitality, Culinary, Tourism, Communication, Arts, Business, Biotechnology and Engineering have also attended this inaugural launch event.
The event started with a cocktail reception followed by speeches delivered by Prof. Dr. Neethiahnanthan Ari Ragavan, Executive Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management, Taylor's University; Mr. Mohamed Riza, Leader of Taylor’s Alumni Maldives Chapter and Mr. Malik Ridhwan, Vice President Malaysia Chapter EXCO of Taylor’s Alumni Malaysia Chapter. The event featured a keynote speech by growth mindset advocate and hospitality leader Mr. Iyaz Waheed, President of Universal Foundation on the topic of “The Remarkable Resilience of Maldives Tourism”.
One of the highlights of the event’s proceedings featured the award presentations to recognized alumni for their professional outstanding achievements, contributions and support to the university and society. 5 alumni have been honored with an Award of Outstanding & Young Distinguished Alumni. The awards were given in view of their recognition and prestige, alumni engagement, networking opportunities and public relations.

Taylor’s Alumni & Community Engagement Office has formed a Maldives Chapter Committee consists of Taylor's Alumni which is led by Ahmed Riza (Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management) together with the 5 committee members, they are Fathimath Samaah (Masters in Hospitality Management), Ali Naif (Master of Science in Engineering), Mariyam Nasra (Master of International Hospitality Management), Aminath Minna (Bachelor of Tourism Management and Engineering) and Hassan Shamaam (Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Engineering). The Alumni believes it will help to bolster the Chapter members and working with all of alumni to build a strong and vibrant alumni community that can support each other and the university.
