Held in conjunction with Taylor’s Open Day, the “Hi, How Do You Tube?” workshop and launch event was held in LT 1 at 12 noon on the 9th of March 2019. In attendance were the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management (FSLM) Prof. Dr. Neethiananthan Ari Ragavan, the Head of School for the School of Media and Communication Dr. Latiffah Pawanteh, and students and guests from the Open Day.
A workshop on the basics of setting up a YouTube channel for beginners was given by the Programme Director of Broadcasting Mr. Terence Raj, followed by the officiating of the School’s YouTube channel by the Executive Dean, Dr. Neethiananthan. The launch sequence was live-streamed to the SOMAC YouTube channel.
The School of Media and Communication’s own YouTube channel will feature videos from students past and present as well as showcase events that involve the students, staff and admins of SOMAC. The objective of the channel is to be a window into the school’s activities and programmes, as well as to be an effective teaching and learning tool for the Broadcasting students.
