Ms. Anna Kueh, Human Resources Manager from InterContinental Kuala Lumpur was invited to share her insight on “A Look Into the World of Hotel Recruitment”. She started by introducing the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) family of brands, which are segregated into Luxury & Lifestyle (Regent, Kimpton, Indigo); Premium (Crowne Plaza, Hua Luxe); and Essential (Holiday Resorts & Suites). She also highlighted the IHG Reward Clubs, where loyal guests will enjoy exclusive member benefits during their stay.
She shared about the process of hotel recruitment from searching, screening, training new employees to their onboarding process, which also includes 14 days on the job training. As a Human Resources Manager, she has to keep up with the government’s laws and regulations that can affect the hotel and its employees. She highlighted an internal IHG Management Programme dedicated to upskilling the hotel’s current employees and preparing them for managerial roles which is known as the “Fast Track to be a Manager” programme.
The programme offers two courses which are "Future Leader Aspire Programme" for Supervisors to Managers level with 18 months duration of course, and the "Future Leader Embark Programme" for up to Supervisor level with 6 months duration of course.
