The American Degree Transfer Programme (ADTP) hosted a CliftonStrengths Assessment Workshop, reaffirming its commitment to student development and international collaboration. The session brought together ADTP students and students from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL), United States creating a dynamic and enriching cross-cultural learning environment. Facilitated by representatives from UNL, including Dr. Timothy D. Hodges and Ms. Megan Christensen, alongside ADTP faculty members Dr. Murugan Thangiah and Ms. Kelly Tee Pei Leng, the workshop introduced students to the CliftonStrengths assessment, a performance-based tool designed to help individuals identify their Top 5 talent themes. The session was primarily peer-facilitated by UNL students, offering a distinctive learning experience that encouraged open dialogue and meaningful exchange.
Participants were guided through strengths-based principles and the Name–Claim–Aim framework, followed by small-group coaching conversations led by UNL Student Strengths Coaches. These sessions enabled students to reflect on their natural talents and explore how they align with their academic and personal aspirations. A key highlight of the workshop was the energy, warmth, and inclusivity demonstrated by the UNL team, which fostered strong engagement and meaningful cross-cultural exchange. Students reported enhanced self-awareness and a clearer understanding of how their strengths interconnect and can be applied in both academic and professional contexts.

The programme concluded with a guided tour of Taylor’s University’s Lakeside Campus, led by Dr. Ahmad Mustaqim Yusoff, offering visiting participants a deeper appreciation of the university environment and student experience. ADTP extends its sincere appreciation to the UNL team for providing students with complimentary access to the CliftonStrengths assessment, a valuable resource that significantly enriched the learning experience.
