Seeds of Tomorrow: Celebrating the Inaugural Graduating Cohort of Future Hospitality and Technology Leaders in Nepal

A significant milestone was marked by the graduation of the first cohort of Bachelor of International Hospitality Management (Honours) and Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) students at Institute of International Management Science (IIMS) College, Kathmandu, Nepal in academic collaboration with Taylor’s University, Malaysia. The 2026 Convocation, themed “Seeds of Tomorrow,” signified a defining moment not only for the graduates but also for the continued advancement of hospitality and computing education in Nepal. The event brought together students, families, faculty, and distinguished delegates in a formal celebration of academic excellence, perseverance, and achievement. From the convocation procession to the conferment of degrees, each segment reflected the dedication, resilience, and professionalism demonstrated by the cohort throughout their academic journey.

The occasion was graced by esteemed delegates from Taylor’s University, led by the Vice Chancellor and President, Prof. Dr. Barry Winn; Registrar, Ms. Ungku Nazli Ungku Ismail and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management, Prof. Dr. Neethiahnanthan Ari Ragavan. Also in attendance were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rajakumar Murugesan, Head of Research, School of Computer Science and Programme Coordinator for Nepal, as well as Dr. Anshul Garg, Programme Director for Postgraduate Programmes, School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events. Their presence underscored the strength of the academic partnership and its shared commitment to excellence. Representing IIMS College were Mr. Sabindra Maharjan, Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Brihat Singh Boswa, Academic Director, School of Hospitality and Business; Mr. Rabin Thapa, Academic Director, School of Computer Science; along with faculty members who played a pivotal role in nurturing and guiding the graduating cohort.
