Shaping Ethical Minds: Advancing Integrity and Ethical Leadership in Psychology Through International Collaboration

We are pleased to share that Ms. Affezah Ali, Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Taylor’s University, Malaysia, was invited as an International Guest Lecturer by the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Raden Fatah Palembang, Indonesia. The guest lecture was held on 21 May 2026 as part of the International Guest Lecturer Programme for the Academic Year 2025/2026. The invitation was extended in line with the Faculty’s commitment to enhancing learning and broadening students’ global perspectives through international academic engagement. The session was delivered to approximately 150 third-year Psychology students enrolled in the Personality Psychology course.

Ms. Affezah presented on the topic “Strengthening an Integrity Personality as a Preventive Mechanism Against Corrupt Behaviour in Organisations.” The session explored personality development, ethical values, and integrity as psychological foundations for preventing corruption and unethical conduct in workplace settings. Drawing on contemporary theories and real-world examples, the lecture highlighted how integrity can be cultivated as a professional competency that supports ethical decision-making and responsible leadership.

The session encouraged students to examine psychological and organisational factors contributing to corrupt behaviour, while discussing practical strategies to foster integrity in educational, professional, and societal contexts. Through interactive discussions and case-based reflections, students gained deeper insight into the relevance of personality psychology in addressing contemporary organisational challenges. This engagement provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and cross-cultural learning between Taylor’s University and UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, reflecting their shared commitment to advancing psychology education and ethical values through global partnerships.

Ms. Affezah’s participation further strengthened Taylor’s University’s international presence in psychology education. Through the sharing of her expertise in personality and organisational psychology, she contributed to the development of future psychologists while fostering meaningful international networks and academic exchange.
