Taylor’s University Strengthens Language Learning Ecosystem Through Partnership with British Council and Launch of TALK@Taylor’s

The School of General Studies and Languages at Taylor’s University marked two significant milestones on 14 July 2026 with the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with the British Council to establish an official IELTS Test Centre on campus, alongside the launch of Taylor’s Academic Language & Knowledge Hub (TALK@Taylor’s). The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Barry Winn, Vice-Chancellor and President of Taylor’s University, and Ms. Jazreel Goh, Country Director of the British Council Malaysia. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prof. Dr. Neethiahnanthan Ari Ragavan, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management, and Mr. Sanjay Mohanani, Head of Sales and Account, British Council Malaysia, together with Dr. Prema Ponnudurai, Head of the School of General Studies and Languages; Ms. Norshahila Mohamad Razak, Head of Department, School of General Studies and Languages; and senior representatives from Taylor’s University and the British Council Malaysia.

The partnership established Taylor’s University as an official British Council IELTS Test Centre, providing students and the wider community with enhanced access to one of the world’s most recognised English language proficiency assessments. Complementing this initiative, TALK@Taylor’s serves as a dedicated language development hub that supports students in strengthening their academic English proficiency, enhancing communication capabilities, and building confidence through a range of targeted learning support activities.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Barry Winn highlighted that the partnership reflected a shared commitment to advancing language education as a foundation for academic excellence, meaningful connections, and global opportunities.
