World International Chef's Day 2020

In conjunction with World International Chef's Day on the 20th October 2020, Taylor’s Culinary Institute (TCI) started an online campaign profiling every Chef Lecturer with their tagline that increased social media followers. The campaign was supported by Taylor’s University (TU) social media by reposting Instagram campaign on daily basis.

This initiative was mainly to engage students, alumni, Chef Lecturers, and potential students. Taylors Culinary Institute collaborated with local supplier, Babylon Vertical Farm which came out with a growing microgreen, vegetable at home exclusive demo/video. Mr. Eshton Thomas, the Chief Operations Officer of Babylon Vertical Farm shared his vision on sustainability especially during this Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) situation.

In addition, a video of Chef Farouk preparing his signature salmon in Brioche that was served in world's most renowned culinary Olympics, Bocuse D’ was revealed on that day followed by the Q&A session. Both activities had around 1300 viewers each with shares and repost from TCI, TU and Babylon Vertical Followers. The diversity of followers are our local & international students, alumni and future prospects from around the world hence, promoting the Culinary Institute.
