On 20 September, students from the Events Program visited the Home Expo at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), a venue capable of hosting heavy industries’ shows and large-scale events. The diploma students from Introduction Events (EVT40804) module inspected the venue and its facilities to get an idea of the size and scale of space available for various events. The group of 36 students were able to compare MiTEC’s facilities and accessibility against other venues such as MVEC. They were able to see the significance of matching venues to appropriate events for a more successful outcome.

Students from the Events Program visited the Wedding Fair 2019 at Mid Valley Exhibition Hall on 20 September. The 2 groups were degree students from Exhibition Management (EVT60104) and diploma students from Introduction Events (EVT40804) modules. Students were there to inspect and review various components of an exhibition – from floor layout and booth design to visitor activities. Working in groups, they took the opportunity to capture many pictures of the event for their assignment compilation and assessments. From classroom to real scenarios, students were able to relate the theories to practical implementation, with views for improvement. They had fun while looking at events from an organizer's perspectives. For the first semester students, it was an opportunity for bonding as well.
