In conjunction with Industry Integration (I2) week, an initiative by SHTE’s teaching and learning cluster, 2 activities were arranged for 12 students from DE14. These sessions were scheduled to create a different learning experience for the students. On 29 May, the students attended a hotel room inspection conducted by Housekeeping Lecturer, Ms Sumitha Anantharajah, at one of TU’s mock hotel room. It was an eye opening session as students received tips on what to look out for during inspection of a hotel room. They also had fun using the tools and methods introduced by Ms Sumitha. On 31 May, Mr Edward Chong, TU’s Senior Manager of Sustainability & Projects, Facilities and EHS, conducted a talk on “Risk Management of Event Spaces at a University”. As part of the preparation for this session, students had to take photos of risk areas for analysis with Edward. They were enlightened on the safety procedures and regulations that had to be adhered to ensure mishaps could be avoided during events. Overall, students enjoyed both sessions as they get to experience a new way of learning through industry sharing's.
