Mr. Justin Victor, Senior Lecturer, School of Media and Communication was invited as a guest for a live interview on ‘David Nair On Air’ which features regularly on TEN News Network India. He was interviewed in his capacity as Chairman of Befrienders Kuala Lumpur, a suicide prevention NGO that works with several coalitions and national government committees on mental health focusing on suicide prevention, and thus the title of the show “Zero Suicide Advocate”. The host, David Nair is from Malaysia, now residing in Australia, but well known for corporate training, development and empowerment in Australia, India, Indonesia, and Maldives where this show is watched.


The conversation revolved around the ways people can help someone who is distressed and thinking of suicide. Justin shared basic signs of a suicidal person, their state and simple conversation approaches that are possible and crucial for the someone wanting to help a family member, friend, colleague, or neighbor. Being a live interview, good questions were raised by viewers indicating a keen interest in mental health issues. The interview gives viewers insight into suicidal intention and the process of listening with the intention to help. This show was live streamed from TEN NEWS LIVE Studio on YouTube and Facebook.

Two teams of Bachelor of Science (Hons) (Culinology) students from the School of Food Studies and Gastronomy (SFSG) participated in "The Proveg Food Innovation Challenge 2021" were shortlisted as the Top Finalists from 125 teams across ASEAN countries and will compete in the final challenge that will be taken place in June 2021.


This plant-based Food Innovation Challenge is organized by Proveg in partnership with World Animal Protection and 7 Multinational Food companies including Nestle, Unilever, Beyond Meat and more. In response to the growing global shift towards plant-based living and as a multi-problem solution to several global challenges, including climate change, food security, animal welfare, health and pandemics.



The Borderless Learning for Culinary and Patisserie classes have been upgraded to provide a better virtual learning experience for Taylor's students.
