A.P. Dr. Zainah Ahmad Zamani appointed as Panel of Assessor by Malaysian Qualifications Agency


The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) is a statutory body established in 2007 with the mandate of ensuring the quality of higher education in Malaysia. The agency's role includes the accreditation of academic programmes and qualifications offered by higher education institutions and the promotion of quality assurance in all aspects of education. Appointment of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainah Ahmad Zamani as the Panel of Assessor in the psychology and counselling area by the MQA is a recognition of her expertise and professional excellence.


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainah is currently the Programme Director of the Master of Counselling, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Taylor's University. Starting 1st of April 2023, she has been appointed as the Panel Assessor in psychology and counselling. This appointment is significantly important, not only to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainah and the Taylor's Master of Counselling Programme but also to the broader Malaysian educational landscape. She brings over 30 years of experience in various educational institutions, including Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).


As a registered and licensed Professional Counsellor under the Malaysia Board of Counsellor (LKM), a member of the International Malaysia Counselling Association (PERKAMA), and a member of the Malaysia Psychological Association, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainah is committed to professional development in the field of counselling. Her research interests include adolescents and juvenile delinquency, organizational and industrial counselling and drug abuse counselling. She has published over 100 papers in reputable journals, proceedings, chapters in books, modules and technical reports.

Her publications have made significant contributions to the field of counselling, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainah's appointment is not only an endorsement of her accomplishments but also of the quality of the Master of Counselling Programme at Taylor's University. This appointment is also a recognition of Taylor's University's expertise and leadership.
