Appointed to National Roles, Dr. Lim Hooi Shan Advances Clinical Psychology Standards

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Lim Hooi Shan, Programme Director of the Master of Clinical Psychology programme at Taylor’s University, has been appointed to two esteemed national roles, recognising her leadership and unwavering commitment to the advancement of clinical psychology education in Malaysia.

Dr. Lim has been appointed as the Secretary of the Committee (Clinical Psychology) for the Review of the Allied Health Programme Standards under the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC). This committee is responsible for reviewing and updating the national programme standards that govern the education and training of clinical psychologists in Malaysia. These standards are vital to ensuring that clinical psychology programmes remain aligned with international best practices, national healthcare priorities, and the evolving demands of the profession.
In her capacity as Secretary, Dr. Lim plays a pivotal role in coordinating committee meetings, providing expert input on curriculum development, and contributing to the formulation of future-ready standards designed to strengthen the quality and consistency of clinical psychology training across the country. Complementing this appointment, she has also been appointed as a Panel Member for the Full Accreditation Evaluation of the Master of Clinical Psychology programme at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Conducted by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) in collaboration with the MAHPC, this evaluation involves a comprehensive review of the programme’s academic rigour, clinical training standards, and graduate competencies.
These national appointments are a testament to Dr. Lim’s distinguished academic background, extensive experience in clinical psychology education, and steadfast dedication to upholding excellence in professional training.
