Cross-Country Research Collaboration: Hubert Curien Partnership France-Malaysia Hibiscus


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Puspa Melati Wan Abdul Halim from School of Liberal Arts & Sciences and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elise Line Mognard from School of Food Studies and Gastronomy, Taylor's University have presented the highlights of the Hubert Curien Partnership France-Malaysia Hibiscus (PHC Hibiscus), a research cooperative between University of Toulouse-Jean Jaurès, France and Taylor's University, Malaysia on "Socialization of Eating Practices in Children with Prader-Willi Syndrome" at the recent Malaysia-France Convention on Higher Education, Research and Innovation that was held in Kuala Lumpur from 18 to 20 October 2023.

The findings of this research are part of a larger research cooperative set-up for the Hubert Curien Partnership France-Malaysia Hibiscus and aim at France-Malaysia comparisons of the findings. Thus, the methods have been set as a mirror study of the research project titled “Socialisation des Pratiques alimentaires des Enfants avec un Syndrôme Prader-Willi” (SoPAP), translation of "Socialization of Eating Practices in Children with Prader-Willi Syndrome" funded by Association Prader-Willi and The Foundation For Rare Diseases, France. 


This cooperative takes place as part of the research activities of the French Reference Centre for Prader-Willi Syndrome at Hospital Center University De Toulouse, directed by Prof. Dr. Maithé Tauber in partnership with The Center for Study and Research Work, Organization and Power - French National Centre for Scientific Research (CERTOP-CNRS) of the University of Toulouse-Jean Jaurès. The Hubert Curien Partnership France-Malaysia Hibiscus is one of the bilateral research programme evaluated and funded by the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia and Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, including the French Embassy in Malaysia, in connection with the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, France.
