Dr. Benjamin Loh, Senior Lecturer from School of Media and Communication, Taylor's University published his first op-ed with the Vibes.com on March 4th, 2022. The article, “Environment Should Be No Laughing Matter,” was co-authored with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Helena Varkkey from University Malaya.
The article addresses the problematic approach that is employed by the Malaysian government in addressing issues raised over conservation efforts in the country. Politician responses are often aloof through use of humour and condescending messages which detracts from the many positive efforts that the government does undertake. Politicians must therefore take a more serious approach to address criticism and to engage in a respectful manner.
