From Campus to Convention: Taylor’s Events Management Students Experience Immersive Industry Learning at WTCKL

ree

Sixteen final-year students from the Bachelor of International Events Management programme successfully transformed classroom learning into real-world practice through the Beauty Business event, organised under the Live Events Project module and supervised by Dr. Khairiah Ismail. In collaboration with Asia Trade Exposition (ATE), the students supported marketing and logistics for the international exposition, held at the prestigious World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) from 21–23 July 2025.

Preparations began with a site recce on 3 June 2025, where students familiarised themselves with the venue and developed operational strategies. Throughout the project, they gained invaluable hands-on experience in attendee registration, marketing, logistics, risk management, and professional engagement with vendors and visitors. This collaboration not only provided the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale international event but also offered meaningful exposure to the high standards and demands of the global events industry.

In recognition of their contributions, all participating students received certificates from ATE, underscoring their professionalism and commitment. The School extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Caffee Wong for her invaluable guidance throughout the planning and execution stages, and to ATE for offering an enriching industry platform that bridges academic knowledge with professional practice while nurturing future-ready event professionals.
