Taylor’s School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events hosted its HEX Talk themed Hospitality Outlook 2021 where key industry experts discussed insights on the industry’s preparedness for the near future. The session Keynote address which was delivered by Mr. Jude Allen, Co-Founder Lumira Resorts, encompassed several concerns including the Micro and Macro issues encountered on the road to recovery, the stakeholder’s perspectives and the industry’s outlook.
The HEX forum moderated by Dr. Joaquim Dias Soeiro, Head of School, School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events featured an array of eminent speakers such as Mr. Gert Noordzy, Managing Director, Northside Consulting; Ms. Cindy Yeoh, General Manager Mercure Hotel; and Mr. Francis Teo, President, Malaysia Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS).
The speakers discussed about the role of vaccine as an enabler to change the profile of the business, questioned if the industry was ready to welcome mass tourism back, considered other facets such as the logistics in the spread of the vaccine, and advised students to gain more skills in this pandemic era to gear up for the future.
