The School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events of Taylor’s University invited Mr. Renato De Oliveira, General Manager of The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur Malaysia to share his view on a timely topic “Managing The Hospitality Business During Crisis". During the session, Mr. Renato shared his 18 years of personal career journey with several key appointments from “Butler” to “General Manager” in six Ritz-Carlton properties across three continents and now in Malaysia.
His personal success story really inspired our students to foresee themselves as future hospitality leaders with his insights on “word of possibility” and working in the hospitality industry will be gateway towards the learning cultures globally. The important lessons learned during the current crisis: COVID-19 is to reinvent with the 3 focus “Innovation; Innovation and Innovation” as it makes them to “Think Outside the Box” for managing the business successfully.
He also shared the different transformation of their products and the entry of food deliver service into “Luxury Brands” during the pandemic. His concluding words to the graduates were “Building Relationships” with all the stakeholders as it will be the key to their success in this everlasting hospitality industry.
