Meet the Brilliant Minds Making Waves in World's Top 2% Scientists - Prof. Mostafa & Dr. Stephanie

We are excited to announce the outstanding achievement of our two faculty scholars, Prof. Dr. Seyyed Mostafa Rasoolimanesh and Dr. Stephanie Chuah Hui Wen from School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events, Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management, Taylor's University who have been named in the World’s Top 100,000 and earned recognition as the World's Top 2% Scientists in the 2023 Stanford University study, based on the Scopus database. Their unwavering dedication to research has placed them among the global elite.

On 4th of October 2023, Elsevier published a publicly available database of top-cited scientists that provides standardized information based on a composite score (c-score) developed by the researchers from Stanford University (Ioannidis, 2023), including citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions. The c-score focuses on impact (citations) rather than productivity (number of publications) and it also incorporates information on co-authorship and author positions.

Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields according to the standard Science-Metrix classification. Field and subfield specific percentiles are also provided for all scientists with at least 5 papers. The selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score or a percentile rank of 2% in the sub-field. This work uses Scopus data provided by Elsevier through International Center for the Study of Research (ICSR) Lab (https://www.elsevier.com/icsr/icsrlab). Calculations were performed using all Scopus author profiles as of October 1, 2023.

We would like to warmly congratulate these two Social Scientists in the Faculty of Social Sciences & Leisure Management for these great achievements.
