On 26th April 2025, Taylor’s University proudly hosted the annual American Degree Transfer Program (ADTP) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Challenge, an electrifying event that brought together 33 teams from 11 schools. These bright young minds eagerly embraced hands-on learning as they tackled real-world challenges across the STEM disciplines.

The day began with a warm welcome and opening remarks by Dr. Wong Yau Hsiung, Chairperson of the event and Stream Coordinator of the ADTP Engineering Department. This was followed by an inspiring keynote address by Professor Dr. Sriram Sundararajan, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Iowa State University. He shared thought-provoking insights into the evolving global landscape of STEM education, highlighting its transformative impact and the limitless possibilities it offers future generations.
A detailed briefing on the day’s challenges set the stage for a dynamic morning, as teams dove into designing and developing creative prototypes. The atmosphere buzzed with energy, innovation, and collaboration. After a well-deserved lunch break, excitement peaked during the Judging Session. Judges and spectators alike were impressed by the originality, problem-solving skills, and technical ingenuity on display.
As the event drew to a close, participants reconvened for a Career Exploration & Pathways session, where they received valuable guidance on academic routes beyond Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). The session served as a meaningful springboard for students to chart their next steps with clarity and confidence. The ADTP STEM Challenge concluded with a joyful Prize Giving Ceremony and a commemorative group photo celebrating the collective achievements of all participants. Each student left not only with enhanced knowledge and skills but also with a deeper passion for innovation and a renewed belief in their potential.
Stay inspired. Stay inventive. Keep building the future.
