Taylor's Culinary Institute (TCI) started the year with the first Alumni Series for 2022 by inviting Chef Lim Heng Kit, the chef/restauranteur from Li Restaurant for a hands-on cooking masterclass with TCI students. Chef Lim was an alumni of 2010 and now owns a restaurant that focuses on contemporary Malaysian cuisine and local flavors. Chef Lim had a fair share of overseas experience where he continued his studies overseas and worked in a farm to table ethos restaurant which is reflected in his cuisine and dishes today.
Chef Lim presented 2 dishes with his own twist that were "Scallop Kerabu" and "Pan Seared Salmon dish with potato pave accompanied by brown butter orange soy". The class was targeted to the final year student of Diploma in Culinary Arts to give them a perspective on new contemporary Malaysian inspired dishes. Chef Lim shared his knowledge and inspired his juniors through out the session.
