Innovative Teaching:The key to Create Future Workforce Skills among Students in the Disruptive World

The Philippine eLearning Society (PeLS), a professional organization that supports the promotion and advancement of eLearning practices in the ASEAN Region, successfully held its 4th International Congress on eLearning (ICE 2019) last September 12 to 14 at Bellevue Resorts in Panglao City, Bohol, Philippines. Under the theme “Empowering Future Workforce in the Era of Disruption” eLearning practitioners namely Dr. Markus Launer of the Ostfalia University in Germany and Dr. Kandappan Balasubramanian from Taylor’s University in Malaysia delivered significant keynote speeches. During the three-day program, 5 ICE talks, 4 parallel workshops and 31 research presentations were conducted. The 5 ICE talks showcased eLearning practices of educators, media specialists, distance education facilitators, instructional designers, university administrators, policy makers and industry partners in the Philippines and abroad.

Careers @ Hilton

55 students from DH 23 and BH 19 had an opportunity to participate in the Careers @ Hilton which was held in Hilton Kuala Lumpur. There were welcome speeches by Ms. Shamala Krishnan Director of Human Resources, Hilton Malaysia. The students were actively networking and chatting with the General Manager's of various Hilton Properties, Hilton KL’s Executive Housekeeper, Magic manager and Hilton leadership team throughout Malaysia. They also got a chance to meet lots of seniors and have a sharing session with them to find out more about their journey with Hilton. It was an energetic session full of positive vibes!

Hilton Cup 2019

Students of SHTE has made us proud once again, by bagging the Champion, & 2nd Runner Up in the Cocktail Competition and 2nd Runner Up in the Latte Art Competition. Thanks to the hard work of the students and trainers through which we are able to retain the Champion Title of the Cocktail Competition for the 2nd year in a row. As for our first entry into the Latte Art Competition, our team did an excellent job as well! CONGRATULATIONS ALL.
