A group of Semester 1 Bachelor of International Hospitality Management students explored our Taylor’s Microhouse for learning it’s extensive sustainable practices such as Solar Powered electricity, Recycled Rain Water, IOT enabled music system and so on, that was well explained by our Digital Head- Yew Vern. We had our very own Alumni from the school of Hospitality who are Industry Experts now Joyce Lim, Director Housekeeping, St.Regi’s KL and Vivian Asst.HR Manager, St.Regi’s KL who highlighted the relevance of sustainable practices in the hotel that is prevalent in the mircohouse and the Industry expectations. Furthermore there was hands on bed making in par to the industry standards was conducted to tickle the technical skills of our students.

Dr Chong Li Choo was invited by BFM: The Business Station to one of their talk show “Breaking Bread”, hosted by Mr Loh Yi Jun on 11th June 2019. “Breaking Bread” is a brand new show that aims to foster any and all geeky discussions surrounding food. The topic of the show is on ‘spiciness’ & she is sharing the sciences behind chilies and spiciness.

The students of BH 18 and DH 21 had an opportunity to visit Bharat Tea Plantations together with Strawberry and Bee farm at Cameron Highlands. This study tour helped students to have a close look at the Tea plantations and the process of making tea from the plantations to the factory and gain more knowledge about the different types of tea and the different flavors of tea produced by Bharat Tea. The students also had an opportunity to visit the strawberry farm and the Honey farm at Sungei Palas.
