He inspired our students on his career path in the Food & Beverage industry and how he started from Malaysia to The United States. The topic of the talk was “From busboy to Director; From Malaysia to US: A career path story of a Banquet Director”.

The Diploma in Hotel and Culinary Management students attended the Internship and Career Talk by the Ormond Group of Hotels that showcased their various properties and opportunities to grow. Ms. Zailan Binti Jaafar, Group Head of People, Ormond Group presented on the wide range of varied careers with the budding group. She went on to explain how Taylor’s students have been well appreciated by their guests on Trip advisor and how well they have been recognized by the Hotel’s Executive Management team. Students were thrilled about this gateway to opportunities!!

Taylor’s Student Employment Programme (STEP) established Fast Track Career Pathway for our students of the Bachelor of International Hospitality Management (BIHM), who recently had their STEP Mandarin Oriental Batch 5 Adoption Ceremony held at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur (MOKUL). The ceremony witnessed by Mr. Christian Tavelli, General Manager of MOKUL welcomed the students on board. Dr. Joaquim Dias Soeiro, Head of School, Taylor’s School of Hospitality, Tourism & Events congratulated the student, Mr. Tan Lea Yao, Assistant Housekeeper, and Batch 1 Mandarin Oriental STEP Alumni who motivated the new entrants and sparked the industry infused learning. Kudos to our 12 BIHM students who have embarked on their STEP journey with the leading luxury brand Mandarin Oriental. The future belongs to those who prepare for it today!!
