Taylor’s Culinary Institute has recently conducted the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1. The participants have been introduced to wine by Mr. Rueben Suresh, an outstanding and experienced Wine Experts from Taylor's University. He is one of the only two certified trainers in Malaysia qualified to conduct the WSET® (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) UK programmes up to WSET Level 3. The Level 1 is suitable for those starting a wine career or pursuing an interest in wine. For individuals new to wine study, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wine. WSET is a globally recognized education and qualification in Wines, Spirit and Sake for both professionals and enthusiasts.


WSET is based in United Kingdom have been providing such education for 50 over years and they are the best-in-class education and qualification design for those who are just starting out in their career as well as established professionals and many who have a passion for wines. Taylor’s Culinary Institute is proud to be collaborating with the world’s leading provider of wine qualifications and to be their partner to conduct such a programme in Malaysia.

School meal is critical to student health and well-being to ensure students have nutrition they need throughout the day of learning. Bachelor of Science (Hons) (Culinology) final year students from School of Food Studies & Gastronomy have specially designed and created vegetarian meals to meet the demand for supporting primary children’s health and wellness.


The vegetarian meals created are able to close the gap of misconceptions about vegetarian meal for kids and promote healthy eating among primary school children. These 2 products were proudly presented to the potential investors and stake holders during the virtual Final Year Project presentation & Product Showcase. The 2 products are also featured in bi-annual Taylor’s InnoFest Festival (https://www.taylorsinnofest.my/sfsg-1).

By August 2021, total of 114 papers have been either published or accepted for publication by the academic staffs of Faculty of Social Sciences and Leisure Management. Out of these 114 papers, 56 papers have been published in indexed (Scopus / WoS) journals, whereas 58 papers have been published in non-indexed journal, books, and media.


The School of Hospitality, Tourism, and Events and Centre for Research and Innovation in Tourism (CRiT) have the highest number of publications, followed by the School of Media and Communication, School of Liberal Art and Sciences, School of Education and School of Food Studies and Gastronomy.
