The Master of Clinical Psychology programme from the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (SLAS) was honoured to have our Visiting and Adjunct Professor who are the renowned and experienced clinical psychologists and psychology experts in the field to share their knowledge, experiences, and skills to the students.

First, Prof. Dr. Keith S. Dobson, Visiting Professor from University of Calgary, who is also the former President of Canadian Psychological Association, winner of Aaron T. Beck Institute for Cognitive Studies annual award for “Excellence of Contributions to Cognitive-behavioural Therapy”, active researcher, practitioner, and trainer on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), shared on CBT skills and techniques as well as role played with students in the module, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. In the class, students got to see Dr. Dobson’s views on CBT and its application to different clinical disorders.

Second, Dr. Nivashinie Mohan, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist in Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur and ReGen Hospital Kuala Lumpur, who is also SLAS Adjunct Professor gave a glimpse of how neuropsychologist and clinical psychologist work in a private hospital. She shared about her experiences in becoming a neuropsychologist as well as her experiences in dealing with some challenging neuropsychological cases. The class had sparked a lot of interest among the students to venture into the field of neuropsychology.

Third, Madam Matilda Xavier, Adjunct Associate Professor and the Founder/Clinical Psychologist from Mentem Psychological Services indicated her vast experiences in dealing with children and adults who experienced trauma. She shared about the cases and skills that are important to manage this population. The students surely benefited from the class as they learned information that is not merely from textbooks.

Finally, Madam Loh Sit Fong, Adjunct Associate Professor and the Founder/Clinical Psychologist from Silver Lining Psychology Specialist shared about her knowledge and experiences in family therapy as well as children with behavioural disorders. With her immense experience in managing children and family cases, the students were grateful to learn some techniques before they embark on their internal clinical practicum, where they will be seeing clients of their own.


The journey to becoming a clinical psychologist for the students is challenging yet fulfilling. The Clinic Psychology programme is poised to provide more unique learning opportunities for the students so that they can be equipped with skills and knowledge to serve the population in the future.


Final year Public Relations Event and Consultancy module students of School of Media and Communication (SOMAC) had the opportunity of collaborating with two Ministries this semester. The first team of 11 students worked with Department of Agriculture (DOA), Malaysia, while another team of 11 students collaborated with Institut Keushawanan Negara (INSKEN) under Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives.

The DOA team presentation was taken place on 20 November 2021 at the Department of Agriculture, Putrajaya. The Team Leader Hong Xin Han and Yuan Sen were accompanied by the Project Advisor, Ms. G. Manickam Govindaraju, Lecturer of School of Media and Communication, represented the group to present their final report to the client. The presentation took place at the Director of Crop Quality Control Division, Tuan Azreen and Principal Assistant Director of Crop Quality Control Division of DOA, Ms. Juliana Ritonga Binti Saipul Jannah in full SOP compliance.


The presentation was well received by the officials and the department was happy with the outcome of the project in terms of reach and engagement in social media platform. In expressing the department’s gratitude, every student of the team, Project Advisor and School of Media and Communication were awarded a certificate of appreciation from DOA.


The INSKEN team presentation took place on 25 November 2021 via Zoom.



On 11th November 2021, the School of Food Studies and Gastronomy (SFSG) celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Bachelor of Science (Hons) (Culinology®) programme. More than 120 participants involving the American Research Chefs Association (RCA), Malaysia Institute of Food Technology (MIFT), industry partners, alumni, academics and Culinology® students attended this celebration.

We were honoured and delighted by the presence of Prof. Dr. Pradeep Nair, Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Chief Academic Officer, Taylor's University who gave the opening remarks followed by Prof. Dr. Neethiahnanthan Ari Ragavan, Executive Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences & Leisure Management, and Chef Jaime Mestan, President of RCA shared the important milestones and future strategies of Taylor’s Culinology® programme becoming the leader and hub for Asian Food product Development & Innovation. One of the 10th Anniversary celebration was the showcase of 2020 and 2021 RCA Culinology® Student competition winning "plant-based products".


The events highlight was the Taylor’s Culinology® 10th Anniversary Charity Auction which raised a total of RM4,500 in funds. All donations were channeled to NGO food bank, Malaysia Food Aid Foundation. The 10th year anniversary celebration provided an excellent platform to showcase the positive role played by the Bachelor of Sciences (Hons) (Culinology®) programme at the local and international food product development industry and in producing future-proof graduates to serve this industry.
