Taylor's Culinary Institute hosted a remarkable event, that marked a harmonious collaboration among four outstanding adjunct chef lecturers. Hailing from renowned culinary academies in France, Chef Pascal Bonnafous from Academy of Toulouse, Chef Thony Lethenet from Academy of Montpelier, Chef Dylan Gallet and Chef Raphael Rein from Academy of Paris joined forces with Taylor's Culinary Institute to create an exquisite fine dining experience. This event not only showcased the strong bonds between top culinary institutes but also celebrated culinary diversity and academic synergy.


This partnership introduced a special dimension to the culinary education at Taylor's, offering students a unique fusion of French culinary traditions seamlessly integrated into their academic journey. The four esteemed chefs, in collaboration with Taylor's Culinary Institute's Director, Chef Frederic Cerchi, curated a five-course fine dining experience. Each chef contributed their inspired dish, resulting in a culinary symphony that unfolded like a narrative. The carefully selected wines further enhanced the overall dining experience.

Beyond the delectable dishes, the event provided valuable learning opportunities for the institute's students. They had the opportunity to interact with the distinguished Chefs from overseas, gaining insights into different culinary techniques, cultures, and inspirations. Heritage Tourism helps preserve cultural heritage by generating awareness and interest in historical sites, traditional arts, crafts, rituals, and customs. Klang, a city of Selangor, is a destination that transcends time, offering a unique blend of history, culture, and authentic experiences.


The participation of enthusiastic students from the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events showcased their customized tour packages and event proposals to the tourism stakeholders at Berkeley, Klang. The panel of judges included esteemed personalities such as YBhg. Datuk M. Ali, Honorary Secretary of PATA Malaysia Chapter; YBhg. Dato K. Thangavelu, President of Malaysian Indian Tour and Travel Association; and Mr. Wang Chong Hwa, Deputy Treasurer of Klang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside the representatives from the chamber added credibility to the initiative. Their presence not only provided valuable insights but also underscored the significance of the event within the tourism community.

Students from the Bachelor of Performing Arts (Hons), Bachelor of Psychology (Hons), Master of Clinical Psychology, and Master of Counselling programmes took part in a workshop at Taylor's Dance Studio, delving into the profound world of psychodrama. The workshop was led by the esteemed presence of Ms. Sharmini Winslow, Director and Certified Psychodramatist at Psychodrama Singapore. Psychodrama, an expressive and therapeutic technique that incorporates dramatic and theatrical elements, provides a transformative experience for the participants, combining performing arts and psychology to deepen their understanding of emotions and interpersonal dynamics.

Ms. Sharmini Winslow, shared insights on the power of psychodrama in unlocking suppressed emotions and promoting personal growth. Her expertise added a valuable layer to the academic integration of psychodrama into the curriculum, providing students with a real-world perspective on its application. The vibrant and creative atmosphere of Taylor's Dance Studio set the stage for this exploration of emotions. The dynamic synergy among performing arts, counseling, and psychology students created a rich tapestry of perspectives, fostering a holistic learning environment. Throughout the session, participants engaged in various psychodramatic exercises, including the physical contract of confidentiality, spectrogram, mirroring, and role reversal.

The physical contract of confidentiality, a cornerstone of psychodrama, emphasizes the importance of trust and privacy within the group, while the spectrogram serves as a launching point for a general discussion of individual or group problems.
