Sixteen final-year students from the Bachelor of International Events Management programme successfully transformed classroom learning into real-world practice through the Beauty Business event, organised under the Live Events Project module and supervised by Dr. Khairiah Ismail. In collaboration with Asia Trade Exposition (ATE), the students supported marketing and logistics for the international exposition, held at the prestigious World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) from 21–23 July 2025.

Preparations began with a site recce on 3 June 2025, where students familiarised themselves with the venue and developed operational strategies. Throughout the project, they gained invaluable hands-on experience in attendee registration, marketing, logistics, risk management, and professional engagement with vendors and visitors. This collaboration not only provided the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale international event but also offered meaningful exposure to the high standards and demands of the global events industry.

In recognition of their contributions, all participating students received certificates from ATE, underscoring their professionalism and commitment. The School extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Caffee Wong for her invaluable guidance throughout the planning and execution stages, and to ATE for offering an enriching industry platform that bridges academic knowledge with professional practice while nurturing future-ready event professionals.

Taylor’s University was honoured to serve as a strategic partner for the preliminary and semi-final rounds of the Kementerian Sumber Manusia (KESUMA) Minister Debate Cup, organised by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) in conjunction with National Training Week (NTW). The competition provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase their intellect, creativity, and communication skills, while reinforcing the value of dialogue and debate in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

A key highlight of Taylor’s involvement was the contribution of the Life Skills Development Unit under the School of General Studies and Languages (SGSL). Represented by M. R. Naveen and Sharvinder Raj Sandra Mohan, the team played an instrumental role as part of the organising committee, managing event logistics and preparations. Their dedication ensured a seamless experience for all participants, reflecting Taylor’s culture of excellence in both academic and co-curricular pursuits.

Equally, significant was the participation of Taylor’s academic representatives as members of the jury. Norshahila Mohamad Razak, M. R. Naveen Raman, and Sharvinder Raj Sandra Mohan served as adjudicators, evaluating debates with rigour and encouragement. Their contributions extended beyond judging; they fostered mentorship, encouraged the exchange of ideas, and reinforced Taylor’s commitment to advancing intellectual discourse on national platforms. The event brought together over 150 outstanding students from esteemed schools across Malaysia. Competing in thought-provoking rounds, participants embodied the spirit of Champion Among Champions, leaving a lasting impression of determination, inspiration, and excellence.

This collaboration between HRD Corp, Taylor’s University, and partner institutions including Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka and the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) World Debate & Oratory Centre (IWON) reflects a shared vision of cultivating articulate, confident, and socially responsible leaders. For Taylor’s, the debate was more than an event, it was a reaffirmation of its mission to provide meaningful platforms that amplify student voices and celebrate their potential.
